Privacy & cookies
This policy explains what personal information DeepTech Ventures Australia (ABN 49 363 042 240, “we”, “us”) collects through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Information Privacy Principles in New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, and, for visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR and UK GDPR.
In short
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
- We only receive personal information you choose to send us, for example when you email us.
- We use it to reply to you and to provide our services. We do not sell it or share it for marketing.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete it at any time.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, local storage, tracking pixels, analytics or advertising tools, and it does not embed content from social networks or other third parties. Fonts and images are served from this website itself. Because nothing is stored on your device, we do not show a cookie banner.
If we ever add a tool that stores information on your device or tracks your visit, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before it runs.
What we collect
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., automatically processes basic technical information so it can deliver the website and protect it from abuse: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with other data.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to include in your message. If we work together, we also hold the business information needed to deliver the engagement, invoice and meet our legal obligations.
Please do not send us sensitive information (such as health information) unless we have asked for it.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- prepare proposals and deliver consulting services;
- manage our business relationship with you, including invoicing; and
- comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We will only send you news or marketing if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
For visitors covered by the GDPR or UK GDPR, our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and performing that contract; our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the website secure; and compliance with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the business, mainly Vercel (website hosting) and Google (email). They process information on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant, where needed.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Overseas storage
Our service providers may store or process information outside Australia and New Zealand, including in the United States and other countries where they operate data centres. We choose established providers that apply recognised safeguards, such as contractual protections for international transfers, so that your information remains protected to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up. If we work together, we keep business records for as long as the relationship lasts and then for the period Australian tax law requires, generally five years. After that we delete or de-identify the information. Hosting logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under its own retention settings.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website and access controls on the accounts we use. No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly confidential material by email unless we have agreed a secure method.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete; and
- delete information we no longer need.
If you are in the EU or UK, you can also object to or restrict our use of your information, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given.
To make a request, email manimehala@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. We aim to respond within 30 days and do not charge for reasonable requests.
